We’re all familiar with window blinds. But they aren’t just for windows—you can install blinds on French doors, bifold doors, and doors with glass panels to maintain privacy.
What about stick-on blinds that are designed to provide a short-term solution to privacy and security? In this blog post, Dominic from BlindsInABox shares his product expertise to answer this question once and for all. Read on to learn more.
First and foremost, stick-on blinds are a simple solution to temporary window coverings. You may be in rented accommodation and not wish to spend a considerable amount of money on permanent blinds. Or, you may be awaiting the arrival of a more permanent solution and wish for privacy and a bit of light control. In either case, these cost-effective paper blinds are a great solution. You can purchase temporary white blinds or black-out blinds to suit your needs.
As mentioned before, you may wish to cover doors that have glass panels to maintain a degree of privacy. Stick-on blinds are the perfect solution to this problem. That’s because they’re remarkably easy to install. Unlike roller blinds and other permanent blinds that require either a bit of DIY or a professional to install them, stick-on blinds are no-drill blinds. That means they require no fixtures.
The strong adhesive section of stick-on blinds makes them suitable for a number of door types, including uPVC, wood and composite. What’s more, the adhesive is specially designed to leave no visible trace after the door blind is removed. (Learn more about which surfaces temporary blinds can stick to.)
If stick-on blinds for doors sound like the solution you’re after, then the next hurdle is knowing which size to get. When it comes to permanent blinds, this can be quite challenging as doors come in varying sizes, styles and widths. However, the versatility of stick-on blinds makes them suitable for any door.
If you shop with BlindsInABox, you’ll find stick-on blinds available in two sizes:
It’s worth noting that the pleats in the blind may affect the exact length. If your door matches the exact dimensions on offer, that’s great! But what if it doesn’t? Not to worry, there are a number of pain-free ways by which to make perfect-fit blinds for your door.
If the stick-on blind is too short to cover the glass panel in your door, you can stick one blind to the bottom of another, and cut away any excess length.
To do this, simply peel off the adhesive strip on one of the blinds and fix it to the bottom of the other one. You can also use our Velcro for blinds to attach the two blinds to one another. Next, fit the extended blind into place on the door and use the provided clips to gather any excess, or carefully remove the excess using scissors or a craft knife.
If the stick-on blind is too narrow to cover your door, you can easily overlap two blinds side-by-side to create one wider blind.
To do this, measure the desired width and cut the blinds to this size. When fixing the blinds to your door, create a slight overlap between the two blinds to ensure there’s no gap.
Even though they are cordless and do not have a fastener, our stick-on blinds can still be adjusted to the required height.
Any stick-on blind you purchase from BlindsInABox comes with two complimentary clips that can be used to hold the blind at the desired level. For example, you can clip the blind to allow light in during the day, and unclip the blind so that it covers the door at night if you want a little privacy. Additional clips and accessories can also be purchased.
With no drilling required, our stick-on blinds are a convenient, affordable, and highly versatile solution for your doors and windows. But don’t just take our word for it, read what our customers have to say.
“I just wanted to say that I have had your fantastic blinds up for 18 months and have finally got around to getting fabric curtains. The blinds have been amazing, went up easily, stayed up perfectly and kept their concertina effect admirably. And I have just peeled a set off with no damage to the paintwork. What a terrific product. Everyone who comes to our flat remarks on them and I always recommend you. Bravo!”
